We value the high quality of our cacao. Our award-winning, single origin Trinitario cacao beans are sourced from the fertile soils of Costa Rica and reach their full-bodied potential through a meticulous post-harvest process. Peeled and crumbled from whole cacao beans, cacao nibs are considered a superfood.
We directly oversee the fermentation process to maximize the unique gourmet flavor and aroma profile that characterizes our specialty cacao beans. Once fermented, beans are placed on elevated beds in an expansive greenhouse where they undergo solar drying.
The exceptional flavor profile is attributed to unique genetic varieties, as well as the result of sustainable farming practices of selected smallholder farmers from whom we procure fresh, carefully grown cacao.
Our beans have a strong cacao flavor with a balanced combination of yellow fruits, red berries and caramel notes. This unique cacao bean profile embodies the rich taste one expects from Costa Rica.
Our nibs are unprocessed, unsweetened and nutrient rich. Nibs are a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, including magnesium, chromium, essential fatty acids, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, copper, serotonin, and tryptophan. Nibs also help boost energy and cardiovascular health.
